In papers obtained from the Historical Section of the NRE it states:
Mt. Hotham fire tower: re-located from SEC Kiewa in 1961

The cabin had the roof replaced in 2000

The Lookout was severely damaged by a wind storm in November 2005. A temporary cabin (ex Mt. Taylor near Bairnsdale) was used until the current tower was constructed during the 2006 / 2007 season.

The above photos were supplied by Jim Browning (currently on Mt. Stanley). The first 2 were taken on Jim's last day as a ranger on Mt. Hotham whilst having a farewell drink with the FLO at the time Dave Whigens.
