Mt. Despair tower was evacuated during the Black Saturday fires in February 2009. Althouhg the tower was in the path of the devastating fires, there was no structual damage. The radiant heat ignited the logbook on the table and a drinking flask melted but that was all the damage done. Still waiting on photos.
