The original wooden tower was located approx. 3 - 4 km away on Sheoak Rise. Information supplied by Peter Barrand

The following information was found in correspondence supplied by David Bannear.
The wooden tower was known as Myamyn Tower (see photo below) and was on private property called Sheoak Rise.
An inspection in 1974 showed that the tower needed replacing but it took until 1976 for the current tower (a model 'Mark 2') to be built at a site called Ginger Swamp.

1st photo (Myamyn) was supplied by Peter Barrand, Annya FLO. 2nd photo has a caption saying: 'Frank Angilino in the old fire tower at Sheoak Rise'. Frank also worked on Mt. Clay for many years, so we're not sure if the photo was taken in Maymyn or Mt Clay.
