This tower is no longer operational, it now has a camera and is looking over Plantation timber.

The above photos were taken and supplied in mid April 2026 by Ian Melody. Ian is a fire tower enthusiast and he has a YouTube channel which features various towers. It can be found here.
Ian also reported: "Decommissioned but active as infrastructure for communications & electronic surveillance. 'Wongi', in the indigenous language, means 'deep water'.
