In April 2005, 2 very dedicated towerpeople climbed the tower for the last time as part of their job.
Warren Thomas and Dawn Parker retired from tower duty after 19 years of service. It was reported to be a record for service in a fire tower, but this has been disputed since..
The article (found on the DSE intranet) also says the cabin is 33m up a 85m high telecommunication tower.
