The following information was found in correspondence supplied by David Bannear.
Correspondence of August 1966 states: "replacing and relocating Dickie's Hill tower to a new site, north east of Dickie's Hill to give better coverage of the Darlimurla plantation".
When, in 1969, the (underground) telephone service is installed, concern is raised about danger in a event of a lightning strike. Cables could act as an earth with resulting damage to cables and equipment. Extra earthing straps are recommended.
1969 Tower from Hunters Hill erected on site
1971 It is proposed to fit the tower with safety enclosures around the ladders.

We found an article on the Australain War Memorial Website. The article was written by Claire Hunter in Sept. 2022. It's about Trevor Scott's time during the 2nd World War. There is one line in the article that relates to the Dickies Hill tower. On page 12, after Trevor's return home, it reads: “So I went home with Mum and after about two hours I said, ‘Where’s Dad?’ “He was building a fire tower out on Dickies Hill, so at about three o’clock I set off across the paddocks to see my old man"
