There was never a tower at this location but it was established to provide a cross bearing for either Crowes Lookout or Beech Forest Lookout. A signboard was located at the lookout point for convenience and when necessary, a lookout man was stationed on site with a radio and any bearings were taken with a prismatic compasss.
