The tree is a white mahogany tree (Eucalytus Acmenioides) and it looked over Native Forest.
The platform in the crown of the tree was accessed via 25 timber rungs nailed to pole.
A phone line was connected to the lookout and an overseer camped in a tent rig adjacent to the tree.
The 1940 picture shows the camp site and names Reno Bonioletti (20 years old) on the rungs
and a Mrs. Wretham standing in foreground of the thumbnail photo.
