This tower is in the Gibberagee State Forest

The tower was refurbished in 2013. The refurbishment involved replacing every bolt in the tower and completely rebuilding the cabin. A copy of an article in the "Australian Forests and Timber News" from the 15th October 2013 can be found here

The above photos were also taken and supplied by Matt Rixon in Dec 2022. The 1st one of the cabin is cropped from the main photo, the other two taken from are differnt angles.
Matt also supplied the following information: "I took myself for a drive to Gibbargee Fire Lookout today. I've never been and wanted to check it out for myself. The dirt road winds through NSW State Forest for about 6km, but was recently graded so even though I had a 4WD, I could have managed with a 2WD. Would be different if it was wet though. From the burn marks on the trees around the area, the 2019 bushfires swept through here, but the tower looks as good as new. There's a cleared acre or so of land around the tower, and it's fenced off now too. Inside the fence has been mowed recently, so someone tends to it. There would be some amazing views of the other forestry plots from up on top, and I reckon you'd see the ocean between Evans Head and Yamba. I'd love to go up one day and see what the view is like".
